The work our doctors do is the backbone of MSF’s action. Their task is to meet the medical needs of the population, by providing direct care of patients and training and supervision of local staff.

They are also responsible for ensuring the proper use of medicines and medical materials by the other members of the health team. In addition, they assume responsibility for the health of the rest of the team. Although their tasks are primarily clinical, supervision and reporting are an essential part of their work, so their work is never just providing care.
